It also has a terminal portion of I-278, connecting to the five boroughs of New York City. This portion of New Jersey played a key role in the American Revolution, with many battles occurring here.
Following the Revolution, immigrants from England, Ireland, and Germany streamed into the area. Today, Linden is known for its Polish population, with many Polish eating establishments.
