The Operations
and Special Projects Manager will have a strong background in the placement of
Employee Benefits and operational improvement across multiple locations with a
national broker. They will lead and
implement numerous projects across the Employee Benefits practice in fast-paced
environment. Must be able to rollup sleeves
and dig into data in order to create long-term strategies for the
business.
Essential
Duties and Responsibilities:
·
Exercise problem solving skills, crafts and
presents actionable recommendations, and works with management and staff to
implement solutions with the Employee Benefits practice.
·
Develops detailed action plans, including time
frame, work to be performed, sequence of events, etc. to be performed by whom.
·
Conduct impact analyses, assess change
readiness and identify key stakeholders.
·
Develops communication and training on
assigned projects.
·
Develops business cases, requirements, and
performance metrics.
·
Analyzes and reengineers business processes,
with input from management and staff.
o Determine
comprehensive business requirements.
o Document
‘as-is’ processes and information flows.
o Develop
‘to-be’ process flows and process change diagrams to identify needed
organizational and workflow changes.
·
Follow
key industry/market trends and technology to ensure the relevance and
innovative approach of World Benefits solutions and capabilities.
·
Provide input, document requirements and
support the design and delivery of EB projects impacting the operations across
the organization.
Projects include but are not limited to:
·
Leads
operational integration activity of newly acquired Employee Benefit operations,
evaluating processes, vendors, carriers, policies and talent, integrating into
the World platform. Includes detailed
work for EPIC integration, carrier activity and vendor analysis.
·
Establish
a formal process at a national level to organize and establish processes for EB
carrier information and activity, monitoring overall business placed.
·
Roll
out new EB solutions and capabilities across the organization.
·
Evaluate
vendor and carrier capabilities for National solutions.
·
Support
and subject matter expert for EB Agency Management System (experience with EPIC
required).
·
Expertise
is tracking data relevant to EB and how to utilize data down to a policy level
for making strategic decisions across the business.
Required
Qualifications:
·
Experience
in with a national broker in a regional or multi-office Employee Benefits environment.
·
Extensive
experience in the placement of all lines of EB business including fully-insured
and self-insured medical, comprehensive understanding of commissions, carriers
and program nuances throughout the US.
·
Excellent
Excel skills with the ability to analyze large amounts of data for trends and issues.
·
Bachelors
degree; MBA Preferred
·
Minimum
of 8 years of related experience.
·
2+
years of experience in design and rollout issues specific to EB and agency
management systems, EPIC preferred
·
2+
years in project/ program management and operational improvement specific to
Employee Benefits preferred
·
National
carrier relationship experience a plus

*Ideally this individual will be located along the East Coast, or
in the Mid-west or South. Willing to travel 30% of time as things open up.
